The National Rifle Association is the primary supporter of hunter education. It offers Hunter Education courses at its Headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia, and online. The NRA also offers scholarships to certified instructors.
The International Hunter Education Association
The International Hunter Education Association (IHEA) is a primary supporter of hunter education. IHEA was founded in 1955 and is the leading international organization promoting safe, responsible, and ethical hunting practices worldwide.
IHEA represents the interests of more than 2 million hunters in over 50 countries. IHEA works with government agencies, wildlife organizations, and other groups to promote hunter education and safety; to increase public awareness of the benefits of hunting; and to ensure that the rights of hunters are protected.
In addition to its work in hunter education and safety, IHEA also promotes research on wildlife conservation and management, and provides financial support for projects that benefit wildlife populations around the world.
The state of Texas
In the state of Texas, the primary supporter of hunter education is the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The department offers free hunter education courses around the state and also offers an online course for a fee.
